PeterStar Going to Create a Single VPN for the RF Pension Fund Administration in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast
04.02.2010PeterStar, a leader of the market of telecommunication services in the Northwest Region, being part of the Synterra Group of Companies, will construct a virtual private network (VPN) for the RF Pension Fund Administrations in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast.
PeterStar will create a VPN that will integrate the Pension Fund Administrations of Saint Petersburg districts such Admiralteisky, Vasileostrovsky, Kurortny, Kalininsky, Kirovsky, Krasnogvargeisky, Kronshtadtsky, Petrodvortsovy, Krasnoselsky and Moskovsky, as well as the Pension Fund Administrations in the town of Sosnovy Bor and the Pension Fund Administrations of the Kirovky and Priozersky areas of the Leningrad Region. Moreover, the carrier will provide the VPN’s 24x7 monitoring, as well as its administration and operational and technical maintenance.
It will be recalled that in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast PeterStar possesses its own fiber-optic backbone network integrated into the national infrastructure of the Synterra Group of Companies. The total length of said backbone network over the Northwest Federal Okrug exceeds 11.5 thousand km, with 4.5 thousand km out of which belonging to PeterStar.
The carrier’s activities in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast are mainly aimed at the provision of services to corporate customers and state institutions such as executive and legislative bodies, educational and cultural organizations.
